Thousands of square meters of office space are sitting vacant in the Ile-de-France, a state of affairs that has become more and more common in recent years. It has increased by more than 30 percent in recent months. This increase is due in particular to the health crisis, which has had significant consequences for the real estate sector. The housing crisis, for its part, has persisted for many years in the Île-de-France, due on the one hand to the lack of available housing, and on the other hand to the strong demand linked to the attractiveness of the region. The objective of this study is to assess the possibility of transforming empty office buildings into housing. This research work explores the following question:
