51
This article proposes a threefold analysis of regional elections in March 2010 in Languedoc-Roussillon. Its first questions the originality of the regional mandate, at a time when a complete reform is announced and will affect this kind of middle-range elite. It is based on a qualitative approach, focusing on the uses and functions of the regional mandate in Languedoc-Roussillon. The second part is a quantitative analysis of key results starting from the participation towards the inflections that undergoes the left-right ratio in the region. It attempts to show how the populism and ultra-media coverage of this election in Languedoc has not produced the expected effect in terms of electoral mobilization. Finally, we will project these results on a Languedocian political map, by looking at continuities and discontinuities in the electoral implantation of the main political forces.
