Studies on suicide highlight the key role incest plays in the issue of suicide. Based on a study about the psychopathology and treatment of suicidal attempts, this paper focuses on psychotherapeutic treatment of the incestual link. A psychopathological discussion about the relations between a patient and his parents shows that psychiatric hospitalization may form a separating psychotherapeutic setting whereas the psychical and relational issue prevent separation.
