A Tribute to Gisela Pankow - 2014.
96
Gisela Pankow (1914-1998) would have turned one hundred years old in 2014. On the occasion of this anniversary, the author pays tribute to this major personality in the history of the psychotherapy of psychosis, by briefly reviewing the stages of her atypical and eclectic training, and touching on the main ideas she introduced. The author illustrates his remarks through two clinical studies, in order to show how the reference to bodily experience, and the dialectics it involves (containing and content, inside and outside, whole and part), contributes to going beyond the narcissistic and deathly character of psychosis. This approach enables conditions for a meeting, the representability of the experience, and the formulation of a desire.
