All the new benchmarking and evaluation procedures in the academic world only emphasize a more ancient tendency to overspecialization which generates a form of collective stupidity. The Manifesto suggests that all scientists and academics intending to resist this tendency, start getting known to each others and promise, whenever and wherever they have the possibility to do so, to help recruiting new colleagues acquainted with more than one discipline.
