The history of sports is a male one, even more so when competition is involved. Women have finally managed to invest all sporting disciplines, yet not without difficulty. The arrival of women in sports has not lead to a mixed project but rather to the creation of a women specific parallel space. Genders remain separated, and this difference is the object of a continuous recall. Infringements to this state of affairs trigger responses reinstating male domination.
