The aim of this article is to study the contextual approach, which is a trend in the family therapy. Böszörményi-Nagy, its creator has invented a system of interviews that questions different family members about their relationships in terms of giving, receiving and giving back. The therapist doesn’t give up on this option thanks to a lever of a questioning that make people think and talk about the “relational account” of each member with the close ones. Böszörményi-Nagy insists on the fact that we forget to take into account what the child gives, the therapy takes sides to help the parents, to say the words that credit the child’s clandestine contributions. This therapeutic proposal to express the deficits of reciprocity or recognition is especially relevant when the giving cycle is blocked and reveals itself by symptoms in the heart of the relationship.
