There has been considerable growth in the number of online consultations, for two reasons: as part of efforts to simplify laws, they offer an alternative to institutional consultations in France and, being open consultations, they are strongly encouraged at the international level. Nevertheless, for consultations to continue to grow in the long term, answers are needed to questions that concern the potential risks—what should be the limits to online consultations and which law should apply?
