After reading the notes from this consultation, three analysts, specializing in psychosomatic troubles, freely associated to the meaning and the place given to the migraine by the patient. Three hypotheses emerged: a somatic displacement for want of achieving psychical maturity and obsessional neurosis; a defense against a risk of psychotic dissociation; an internal tug of war between eroticising the relationships to the women in his family, and the refusal of a certain homosexuality.
