Feeling in Order to Think or the Body as Organiser of the Psyche - 2016.

Sensation is recognised as having an organising role for the psyche. The authors illustrate their position with clinical extracts derived from a treatment setting modified by the use of corporal mediation for patients in difficulty with their primary relationships. Corporal psychoanalytic psychotherapy (CPP) is chosen for its capacity to make use of sensations to give new impetus to psychic functioning in a transference/countertransference relationship where the body is developed as an operator of the treatment. Reexamining primal states of mind, the authors show the involvement of sensations in the organisation of the mental appa-ratus. Their hypothesis is that, with an economy of means, sensation reveals and allows the subject to feel his/her psychic functioning.
