In favour of a playful examination of identity in the work of Queneau and Calvino - 2019.

In the middle of the twentieth century, the two Oulipian authors, Queneau and Calvino, participated in reflections on the crisis if the novel, focusing particularly on the character. In their work, they disrupt its characteristics, like the name or the physical attributes, by introducing the motif of disguise. Consequently, their protagonists are exhibited as paper beings but, paradoxically, they regain coherence through the awareness they have of their literary nature. The mask is therefore revelatory insofar as it highlights the difficulty in understanding what identity is.
