The success of executive coaching suggests that every profession is based first of all on a statement of beliefs. From the practitioner’s perspective, “vocation” is not a defining criterion among hybrid and mercantilist motivations. But from the client’s perspective, coaching is seen as a journey or pilgrimage into one’s inner being, revealing the deeper sense that transcends the basic notion of economic performance. In this way coaching contributes to awakening a new management awareness rather than to human sciences as applied to management.
