This article presents the economic, social, political and environmental dynamics which support the “resource curse” in many developing countries with the backdrop of increasing price volatility. It also considers the potential remedies, that is to say the strategies and policies aiming to end this curse. To conclude, the article looks at the issues raised by this problem in the African continent and in the resource-importing countries.
