We owe a brief contribution to the first issue of the Revue de littérature comparée to Alfred Morel-Fatio. The present study, after briefly summarizing its content, seeks to map out the career of the pioneer in French Hispanism and demonstrates how one might understand the fact that he did not provide the two founders of the RLC with a more sizable study.
