Notes on Psychic Groupality and Its Contribution to Clinical Practice

Notes on Psychic Groupality and Its Contribution to Clinical Practice - 2006.

35

The author makes some conceptual remarks about psychic groupality before indicating its wider interest for clinical practitioners. A short literature review shows that this notion admits different variants and that sociology gives it permanent support. In its broad sense, this hypothesis allows taking into account mechanisms of clinical groups and subjects who are suffering too greatly to make a request for clinical treatment. The highly primitive sufferings, which subjects cannot accommodate, are exported and diffused in groups. Illustrations are taken from team supervision, mediation groups, and situations with infants or at-risk individuals.
