The treatment of patients presenting psychosomatic illnesses and/or suffering from panic attacks is often difficult. They have histories of medical treatment, bodily manifestations, and intense psychic suffering. Free association is impeded by traumatic experiences that occurred during the early stages of their psychic development. Their preconscious has been affected and the links between the unconscious and the conscious have been interrupted. This paper addresses the psychotherapeutic treatment using a Photolanguage© mediation group because it allows a scene to unfold through the group associative chain and the diffraction of the transference, processes described by R. Kaës.
