How was the contribution of this “American philosopher” to the conceptual edification of “psychology” received, translated and discussed, at the time, in non-anglophone European academia, be it italophone, francophone or germanophone? According to which definitions of psychology were the conceptual appropriations of the various disciplines (medicine, the sciences, literature) carried out? Why did James gradually become a nodal figure of this new knowledge?
