In social institutions the clash between two different theoretical currents can raise massive conflicts and resistances, and even take an ideological turn. How can we ensure that opposing theoretical convictions do not turn into an institutional symptom? With the help of a clinical presentation, the necessity and capacity of the clinician to resist attacks on his/her theoretical framework will be highlighted. It is by ensuring that the difference of the educative Other is recognised that he/she will guarantee the ideological flexibility of institutional thinking.
