How Does One Become a Model? - 2009.

Most of the time, approached in a public place – a sign of the democratization of fashion – the young models we interviewed tended to foreground this casual encounter to explain their choice. We have tried to understand how and why a subject – man or woman – could be led to trade her/his image to become the object of the gaze of the other. The choice questions the relation which the subject entertains with her/his body – representations, identity, gender, jouissance – and ultimately a possible imaginary feminisation, whether denied or accepted.
