This paper considers Brazil’s presentation in the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony. For about eight minutes, Brazilian artists took part in a performance mediatizing the music, costumes, and choreography of Brazilian national culture. These sounds and images exhibited at the Olympics, an event watched by millions across the world, played an important role to (re)invent the myth of Brazil, the first South American country to host the Olympics.
