Field of urban analysis is increasing questioned for fifteen years. The questions have brought about an attention to the relevance of the studies produced for urban development, and their capacity to reflect social and territorial situations in their diverse, especially for the most vulnerable populations. A renewal of methodological approaches is taking place in which the consideration of emotions appears as a criterion of relevance and legitimacy. This article provides information on the main forms of these methodological approaches and the resulting understanding of emotions for practitioners.
