In just a few years and two stages of rationalization of health policy, economic calculation became a key element in public health. It has imposed the economic criterion as the primary decision criterion in healthcare policy. In so doing, economic calculation has focused attention on a high-tech utilitarian approach, leading to a specific approach to ethics and social justice, which is widely questioned for methodological, theoretical, practical and operational reasons.
