The reappropriation of informal exchange spaces at a distance, the experience of teleworking in a confinment situation - 2021.
97
The article focuses on telework in a confined situation from the perspective of informal exchanges. It tries to show their situated character (to be grasped in the folds of shared and familiar physical workplaces) and the effect of a prolonged experience of telework on their composition within work collectives. The generalized practice of continuous telework does not only result in the erasure of part of the informal exchanges, but also in attempts to recompose the geography of “interstitial” sociabilities. These attempts at recomposition reflect a parallel movement of institutionalization and virtualization of informal interactions.
