During the clinician’s training in family interview sessions, many questions are asked in the group about the connections between the families met and students’ families. For many years now, the Centre d’Etudes de la Famille et des Systèmes (Center for Family and Systems Studies) has chosen to take these questions into consideration by working with each student on the transmission of values and resources within their family of origin. The floor is then given to several members of this family, chosen by the student, during a unique interview in the presence of the training group. Thanks to their testimony, the attending members deal with the specificity of the system of their family of origin and the generational transmission of values. This article addresses theories that are the basis of our reflections, the fundamental difference between the romance and the story, questions asked by the writing of the romance and its distribution, the position of the trainer, and the progress of the interview. We will conclude with some items collected in the final assessment.
