Genial Civil Engineers in Town Planning, 1950-1970
Fredenucci, Jean-Charles
Genial Civil Engineers in Town Planning, 1950-1970 - 2003.
70
Civil engineers who began their overseas, post war career in the territories of black Africa or the Algerian departments, became part of the new metropolitan planning administration landscape once these countries became independent. They were militantly involved in the doctrinal and methodological renewal movement of what was already not just urbanism but town planning in the name of operational necessities. The professional itineraries during the 1960s of a small group shows that the practices of administering the bush were updated and took the form of a contractor in the new bodies responsible for implementing the modernization policy of the national territory.
