Hooliganism: Between Genesis and Modernity - 2005.

Speaking of hooliganism in France seems to be a wager. The people at the head of football, the police, and journalists forget, avoid or deny the question of the phenomena of violence of sports crowds. In the collective imagination the hooligans are English, young, ignorant about sport, from underprivileged groups, and delinquents in everyday life. There is a gap between belief and reality that poses questions. Where does the notion of hooliganism come from? What types of data have been used for the studies on the subject? Haven’t certain facts been hidden? Doesn’t the lack of information on the subject simply mean that these events are invisible or far off?
