Psychoanalysts’ (mainly Lacan’s) borrowings of notions from other fields, such as linguistics, constitute a distortion of the original meaning (as has often been stated). But that does not mean that no principles are involved. The present work attempts to cast light on the process, including on the specific reworkings of analytical elaborations.
