The Future of Segregation - 2016.
86
This article contemplates the question of segregation from the psychoanalytic perspective. It begins by situating it as a concept at the foundation of the political constitution of human groups. Then, it traces the way in which Jacques Lacan introduced it, not only in anticipation of the rise of racism, as has often been said, but more fundamentally to renew the problematic interconnections left to us by Freud in his theory of culture.
