In adolescence, psychological trouble can be expressed through risky behavior. This expression can be seen as unconscious attempts of representation and new affiliation during this pivotal period where the links with family and the environment are rearranged. Family therapy can offer a welcoming container which aims to transform the brutality of the feelings mobilized by these behaviors and which sustains the advent of transitional process. However, as a first step the capacity to contain provided by the setting is essential.
