The analytical situation involves all its members (analyst and patient/s) in a dynamic process, the field. The surface of this field is akin to a hybridization of the psychic surfaces: the surface of a protagonist (analyst or patient) expands to reach the surface of another (or others, as in a group), forming a third surface of the relationship, that of the field. To experience the field, it seems necessary to cross this surface, to “dive” through. It’s an analytic immersion: the analogy with the immersion in the video game world is evoked. Also, the analytic field exists only when the members of the scene manage to immerse themselves in it. A family clinic helps to illustrate these hypotheses.
