Using data from a thesis project, it emerged that social rehabilitation explains how social workers perceive their professional identity. This is fraught with tensions, some of which are distinctive to physical rehabilitation institutions in Quebec. Presenting these tensions allows us to better understand this context, as well as the issues involved, some of which are specific to adult clients.
