Using a pragmatic and interactionist approach, this study examines how the reception and sharing of (false) information can be favored or, by contrast, hampered by certain situations according to the enunciative constraints that underlie them. Based on collective interviews, observations, and an experimental device, conducted in a secondary school, this article shows how teenagers’ reactions to (false) information are far from being a constant based solely on cognitive and individual variables, but rather vary according to the degree of publicity of the situations.
