Un mois plus tard, il débute une collaboration avec la Bibliothèque historique de la Ville de Paris à qui il vend, sur l’ensemble du conflit, près de mille photographies. La série intitulée « Aspect de Paris pendant la guerre » entend constituer une source pour l’historien de demain. Le présent article retrace l’histoire de la constitution de cette archive hybride, au croisement entre source visuelle et manuscrite. Il tente de faire comprendre comment la guerre à l’arrière, dans ses formes les plus diverses, a pu être appréhendée par la photographie. |
