Summary, etc. | Le présent article propose une étude des méthodes et pratiques d’enseignement de la littérature et de la langue anglaises mises en œuvre au sein de l’École Laboratoire de l’Université de Chicago entre 1896 et 1904. À partir de l’analyse des écrits et comptes rendus d’expériences d’enseignants, en particulier ceux de Porter L. MacClintock, cet article met en lumière la manière dont la littérature était enseignée au sein de cette institution indissociable de l’œuvre de John Dewey. Il apporte ainsi un éclairage nouveau sur la compréhension des méthodes et pratiques pédagogiques deweyennes. |

Summary, etc. | This article explores the methods and practices of teaching English literature at the University of Chicago Laboratory School between 1896 and 1904. Based on an analysis of the writings of teachers, especially those of Porter L. MacClintock, this article sheds light on this little-studied aspect of the history of the Laboratory School, inseparable from the work of John Dewey. It thus brings new light to the understanding of deweyan pedagogical methods for teaching literature. |
