| Summary, etc. | RésuméAu cœur de Paris, la Seine, ses ponts, ses quais tiennent une place particulière, inégalée dans les autres capitales d’Europe. Ils ont inspiré un grand nombre de chansons qui renvoient à des représentations d’ordres temporel et spatial. La Seine y apparaît féminine et ondoyante ; miroir mouvant ou sépulture, elle absorbe les confidences et les destinées tragiques. Ces chansons utilisent également le registre social : le pont, avec ses deux niveaux, permet de jouer sur l’opposition de classes. La description poétique des quais et des personnages qui les hantent l’emporte sur celle du Paris monumental et des lieux du pouvoir. Majoritairement inscrits dans le périmètre du Paris muséifié d’aujourd’hui, les itinéraires évoqués par les chansons aboutissent à deux points de convergence des promeneurs, Notre-Dame et la place de la Concorde, annonçant la reconquête des berges par le piéton et le touriste du xxie siècle. |

| Summary, etc. | In the heart of Paris, the river Seine, its bridges, its banks, hold a special place, unrivalled in other European capitals. They have inspired a great many songs, relating to time and space representations. The Seine is described as feminine and rippling ; moving mirror or grave, it absorbs confessions and tragic fates. These songs also use a social context : the bridge, with its two levels, is a metaphor for opposite classes. The poetic description of the banks and of the people haunting them, prevails over the ones of monuments and places of power. The itineraries referred to in songs, mostly situated in the museum perimeter of today, lead to two points of convergence for walkers : the cathedral of Notre-Dame and the Place de la Concorde, announcing thus the reconquest of the river banks by the 21st century pedestrian and tourist. |
