Summary, etc. En 2013, la Loi pour la refondation de l’école de la République institutionnalisait le terme bienveillance. Cet article vient déplier quelques éléments d’analyse d’un entretien clinique à visée de recherche mené auprès d’une professeure des écoles novice. La consigne ouverte l’amenait à évoquer les résonances que le terme bienveillance rencontrait dans sa pratique de classe. L’insistance de l’étudiante sur sa volonté de conserver une « position neutre » inconditionnelle questionne l’interprétation singulière de la prescription et les compromis défensifs associés, notamment le clivage opéré dans le discours entre attitude bienveillante et revendication d’une neutralité excessive.

Summary, etc. In 2013, the School Refoundation Law of the Republic institutionalised the term benevolence. This article presents some elements of analysis of a clinical interview with a novice school teacher. The open-ended instructions led her to evoke the resonances that the term benevolence met in her classroom practice. The student’s insistence concerning maintaining an unconditional « neutral position » questions the singular interpretation of the requirement and the associated defensive compromises, particularly the cleavage in the discourse between a benevolent attitude and a claim of an excessive neutrality.
