Summary, etc. Le Street Workout (SWT), mélange de musculation au poids du corps, de gymnastique informelle et d’influences hip-hop, est né de la précarité des quartiers populaires américains. Il s’est diffusé mondialement dès 2008 via YouTube, notamment dans les quartiers populaires français. Cet article socio-anthropologique, adoptant une approche ethnographique immersive, explore comment la jeunesse d’un quartier périphérique strasbourgeois a créé un spot de SWT dans un centre socioculturel. Cette activité, à la fois physique, sportive, artistique et ludique, se transforme en une forme d’éducation populaire, permettant aux jeunes d’apprendre et de transformer leurs expériences de vulnérabilité en résistance, émancipation et reconnaissance sociale face à leurs conditions de vie.

Summary, etc. The Street Workout (SWT), a mix of bodyweight training, informal gymnastics, and hip-hop influences, originated from the hardships of American urban neighborhoods. It spread globally since 2008 via YouTube, especially into French urban areas. This socio-anthropological article, adopting an immersive ethnographic approach, examines how the youth in a peripheral neighborhood in Strasbourg established a SWT spot within a sociocultural center. This activity, combining physical, athletic, artistic, and playful aspects, evolves into a form of popular education, enabling the youth to learn and transform their vulnerability experiences into resistance, emancipation, and social recognition in the face of their living conditions.
