| Summary, etc. | Ce n’est pas de musique mais de théâtre qu’il s’agit. La première de Requiem pour quatre mineurs est donnée à la salle des fêtes de Champagney, en Haute-Saône, le 29 juin 1974. L’histoire minière du bassin houiller de Ronchamp-Champagney est alors terminée depuis près de vingt ans et, dans l’entre-temps, ici comme ailleurs, l’image du mineur a été amplement modifiée. Les cinq actes de la pièce s’ordonnent selon la chronologie d’une catastrophe advenue au puits de l’Étançon, en décembre 1950. Pour autant, le propos n’est pas de reconstitution et les galeries inondées restent invisibles. La fiction produit une autre réalité et tisse son cadre d’analyse où elle convoque humains et choses en situations, elle installe ses modalités de véridiction. Il y est question d’un autre montage de l’histoire et de l’établissement de formes nouvelles de distribution des vies dans le temps, de la fabrication d’esprits assujettis, de la domestication par le travail puis la consommation, de l’exercice de la domination dans une démocratie de marché. Mais aussi d’une échappée possible, l’exercice critique semble emprunter à Sartre, Lefebvre, Ellul ou encore Gorz. Alors, « l’accident de l’Étançon » est autrement présent, au-delà des collections de photos, des coupures de presse, de tous les documents produits comme des monuments à l’activité disparue et aux morts qu’elle a provoquées. Il prend une autre tournure, pour ce qu’il est mais aussi comme une surface de réfraction de la pensée d’une autre catastrophe à l’œuvre, d’un à-venir ou d’un déjà-là. |

| Summary, etc. | The triple death or the minor condition. Essay on Requiem pour quatre mineursIt’s not music but theater. The requiem premiere for four miners is given at the village hall of Champagney, in Haute-Saône, on June 29, 1974. Then the mining history of the coalfield of Ronchamp-Champagney is finished for almost twenty years and, in the in the meantime, here as elsewhere, the image of the minor has been greatly modified. The five acts of the play are ordered according to the chronology of a disaster that occurred at the Well of the Étançon, in December 1950. However the point is not of reconstitution and the flooded galleries remain invisible. The fiction produces another reality and weaves its framework of analysis where it summons humans and things in situations, it installs its modalities of veridiction. It deals with another montage of history and the establishment of new forms of distribution of life over time, the manufacture of subject spirits, the domestication through labor and consumption, of the exercise of domination in a market democracy. But also of a possible escape, the critical exercise seems to borrow from Sartre, Lefebvre, Ellul or Gorz. Then, “the accident of the Étançon” is otherwise present, beyond the collections of photos, clippings, all the documents produced as monuments to the disappeared activity and the deaths it caused. It takes another turn, for what it is but also as a surface of refraction of the thought of another catastrophe at work, of a future or of an already-there. |
