| Summary, etc. | Cet article propose une analyse comparative de la série des Angélique, les romans écrits par Anne Golon à la fin des années 1950 et les films réalisés par Bernard Borderie entre 1964 et 1967. Si les livres présentaient un personnage d’héroïne, certes amoureuse, mais libre et parfois presque émancipée, l’adaptation cinématographique en donne une version revue et corrigée par le cinéma patriarcal de la Ve République. L’interprète, Michèle Mercier, est comme Martine Carol et Brigitte Bardot avant elle, érotisée. Son corps devient un véritable argument marketing, réduisant son personnage de femme forte à un fantasme à destination des hommes. Les films bouleversent surtout son image pour en faire une femme capricieuse, volage et toujours soumise aux désirs de ses partenaires. La série des Angélique a considérablement perdu de sa complexité en étant récupérée par le cinéma français des années 1960 dominé par les hommes. |
