| Summary, etc. | RésuméPrenant pour objet d’étude la « monosexualité » du secteur du travail social, les auteurs proposent d’étudier les rapports de genres dans la perspective d’une sociologie des imaginaires sociaux. Ils montrent qu’un « imaginaire maternaliste » structure les représentations des professionnels, mais aussi les politiques sociales, les organisations du travail, les relations aux usagers… au point de questionner, finalement, les interprétations en termes de confrontation ou de domination entre les sexes. |

| Summary, etc. | Focusing on the « monosexuality » of the social work sector, the authors propose to study gender relations at work through a psycho-sociological perspective based on the notion of « social imaginary ». They show that some kind of « motherhood imaginary » organizes the representations of professionals and « clients » but can also be found in social policy assumptions and work organisation patterns. This would explain why the entry of men in this field of activity is so slow and almost non existent. |
