| Summary, etc. | Contexte : Les données existantes en cancérologie en France sont éparses de par la multiplicité des indicateurs disponibles et de leurs sources. Afin d’en faciliter l’identification et l’exploitation, l’Institut national du cancer (INCa) a établi une cartographie des principaux indicateurs disponibles en cancérologie. Méthodes : La cartographie repose sur les besoins exprimés par différentes catégories d’utilisateurs potentiels. Des entretiens standardisés ont été menés en face-à-face ou par courriel auprès de représentants pour recueillir leurs besoins et attentes. Ont également été identifiées les sources de données mobilisables : bases de données, enquêtes nationales, sites internet. Une première sélection d’indicateurs, disponible dans le rapport « La situation du cancer en France en 2009 » de l’INCa, a été reprise et enrichie. Le recueil des informations concernant les indicateurs a été effectué auprès des référents à l’INCa pour chaque thématique. Résultats : Plusieurs thématiques ont été définies : épidémiologie, prévention et facteurs de risque, dépistage, démographie médicale, offre de soins, conditions de vie, coûts et dépenses, recherche. Les ventilations demandées étaient : maillage géographique, âges, sexe, types de cancer, catégories socioprofessionnelles. Ces informations ont été recueillies pour chaque indicateur sélectionné et sont mises à disposition au travers du portail des données du cancer r.fr). Conclusions : Les indicateurs disponibles en cancérologie sont nombreux et disséminés. Leur cartographie peut être un outil utile pour faciliter leur accès. Elle doit être régulièrement actualisée pour refléter les données les plus récentes. |

| Summary, etc. | Mapping of the key oncology indicators available in France Background : Available data in the field of oncology in France are scattered due to the large number of available indicators and their sources. In order to facilitate identification and analysis of these indicators, the French National Cancer Institute (INCa) has mapped the main indicators available in oncology. Methods : Mapping was based on the needs of various categories of potential users. Standardized interviews were conducted face-to-face or by email among representatives to determine their needs and expectations. The underlying data sources were also identified : databases, national surveys, websites. A first selection of indicators was proposed in the report entitled “La situation du cancer en France en 2009” (“The state of cancer in France in 2009”) and was expanded. Data collection concerning indicators was performed among INCa correspondents for each theme. Results : Several themes were defined : epidemiology, prevention and risk factors, screening, medical demography, health care offer, living conditions, costs and expenses, research. Data were classified according to : geographical coverage, age, gender, type of cancer, occupational categories. This information was collected for each indicator selected and was made available via the cancer data website Conclusions : The available oncology indicators are numerous and scattered. Mapping can be a useful tool to facilitate access to these indicators. It should be regularly updated to reflect the most recent data. |
