Summary, etc. | Cette étude traite de la re-vision du point de vue de l’analyse filmique dans le contexte spécifique du cinéma policier. Analyser un film nécessite de le regarder plusieurs fois afin de corriger ses premières perceptions, toujours partielles et souvent inexactes. Dans le cas du film policier, l’élucidation d’une énigme met l’accent sur le fossé de connaissances entre le spectateur et l’analyste. Nous montrons comment l’analyse nécessite de rester attentif à la persistance des premières impressions. L’article est centré sur l’étude de trois films qui répètent une partie entière, une scène ou un plan afin de rectifier ce que nous avons vu dans une instance précédente. Ce type de structure est comparé à d’autres motifs esthétiques fondés sur une expérience visuelle similaire en deux parties : l’anamorphose (déformation et restauration), le trompe-l’œil (illusion et désillusion) et la polyvision (perception et mémoire). Il apparaît que chaque fois que le dispositif de répétition utilisé dans ces films s’accompagne d’un appel à l’analyste pour qu’il se souvienne de ses premières impressions. |

Summary, etc. | This article covers the subject of “watching again” in the practice of the detective film analysis. Analyzing a film requires to watch it multiple times in order to correct one’s first perceptions that are always partial and often inaccurate. In the case of the detective film, the elucidation of an enigma emphasizes the knowledge gap between the then spectator and the analyst. On the contrary, we will show how analysing requires to stay mindful to the lingering of first impressions. The article centers around the study of three films that repeat an entire part, a scene or a shot in order to rectify what we saw in a previous instance. This kind of structure is compared to other aesthetic apparatuses based on a similar two-parts visual experience: the anamorphosis (distoration and restoration), the trompe l’oeil (illusion and disillusion) and the polyvision (perception and memory). Nevertheless, it appears that each time the repetition device used in these films comes with a call for the analyst to remembering their first impressions. |
