| Summary, etc. | L’organisation du temps et des semaines dans les asiles et hôpitaux psychiatriques a été précédée par un ordonnancement architectural des établissements publics qui se sont imposés comme « ville dans la ville ». Ces cités thérapeutiques ont renfermé des enfants, des femmes et des hommes, dont la plupart en perdition sociale. Afin de les soigner et dans l’espoir de leur permettre de réintégrer le monde hors les murs de l’asile, le premier traitement qui leur ait été proposé consistait en un emploi du temps règlementé. Travail au quotidien et loisirs aux interstices, les semaines de milliers d’interné·e·s déclaré·e·s « valides » se trouvèrent calquées sur celles de millions de Françaises et de Français salarié·e·s. Néanmoins, pour d’autres interné·e·s placé·e·s en cellule d’isolement en raison de leur comportement, les jours, les semaines ou les mois accoucheront d’un temps dilaté et inoccupé qui leur fera perdre le sens du temps et de ses rituels institués. |

| Summary, etc. | The organisation of a daily and weekly routine in the asylums and psychiatric hospitals was preceded by a structural planification within the public institutions which established themselves as “cities within the city”. These therapeutic ‘towns’ housed children, women and men, most of whom came from situations of social perdition. With a view to their eventual return to society, the first therapy was the imposition of a work schedule. Daily work punctuated with leisure time, those residents declared to be able-bodied found their weekly schedule based on that of the millions of french workers. However, those residents placed in isolation for behaviour found their days, weeks and months stretching out into an endless emptiness, leading to the loss of bearings and of previously acquired routines... |
