| Summary, etc. | Parmi les dimensions spécifiques des modes de vie gays, classiquement présentées dans la littérature en sciences sociales, figure celle de la migration vers les métropoles supposées anonymes, tolérantes et émancipatrices. Afin d’éprouver cette théorie, nous avons recueilli au moyen d’une enquête en ligne plus de 3 500 questionnaires de personnes se déclarant gays ou lesbiennes. Cet article met en évidence la diversité des parcours géographiques remettant ainsi en cause l’exclusivité du modèle archétypique de « la fuite vers la ville » (Éribon, 1999). Après une présentation de l’enquête, il explore dans un premier temps les localisations au moment de la décohabitation parentale, puis il décrit la forme des parcours géographiques en fonction du nombre d’étapes, de leur localisation et de leur enchaînement. Décrire la diversité des parcours migratoires des gays permet d’une part de penser une pluralité de modes de subjectivation et d’autre part d’ouvrir des perspectives de recherche fécondes en sociologie des homosexualités. |

| Summary, etc. | An urban dream? The diversity of gays’ migration pathsAmong the specific dimensions of the lifestyles of gays classically presented in social science literature, appears that of the migration towards metropolises, supposed to be anonymous, tolerant and emancipating. To test this theory, we use an online survey to collect more than 3,500 questionnaires of persons declaring themselves gay or lesbian. This article highlights the diversity of individual geographical trajectories, thus questioning the exclusivity of the archetypical model of “the flight towards the city” (Éribon, 1999). After a presentation of the survey, the article first investigates the choices of localisation at the time of moving from parents’ homes, and then describes the shape of the geographical routes according to the number of stages, their localisation, and their chains. Describing the diversity of the migratory routes of gays allows on the one hand to think of a plurality of modes of subjectivation, and on the other hand to open useful perspectives of research in the sociology of queer. |
