| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article met en lumière le rôle joué par une association de militants socialistes homosexuels dans la dynamique d’institutionnalisation que connaît une partie de l’espace de la cause des gays et des lesbiennes en France pendant les années 1980 et 1990. Loin d’avoir disparu ou de s’être résumé à la lutte contre le sida, ce mouvement s’est en réalité en partie intégré au Parti socialiste, adoptant ses cadres cognitifs et adaptant son répertoire d’action. Au cours des années 1990, ce groupe de socialistes homosexuels contribue à doter le pôle associatif de l’espace de la cause des gays et des lesbiennes d’organes de représentation auprès des pouvoirs publics et à socialiser ses porte-parole aux attentes des institutions du champ politique. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper highlights the key role played by a group of gay members of the French Socialist Party in the institutionalization of the gay and lesbian political movement in the 1980s and 1990s. Refuting scholarship that argues for the disappearance of this movement or its exclusive focus on the fight against the AIDS epidemic, I demonstrate that the movement instead partly integrated into the Socialist Party, appropriating the party’s cognitive framework and adjusting its repertoire of contention accordingly. Throughout the 1990s, this group of gay socialists helped the gay and lesbian movement to dialogue with government authorities and socialized its spokespeople to conform to the expectations of the institutions of the political field. |
