| Summary, etc. | Résumé Au-delà de tous les classements qu’il est possible d’imposer aux musiques de nos sociétés contemporaines, il ne faut pas oublier le vécu du terrain, au sens ethnogra~phique s’entend. Le cas du groupe Z montre à quel point il est complexe de penser une proposition musicale hybride qui n’échappe pas toutefois aux velléités et aux nécessités de classements. L’exemple comparatif de deux autres matériaux empiriques, les musi~ciens de bal et les compositeurs de musique de spectacle, illustre bien l’utilité de la catégo~risation qui répond à des horizons culturels particuliers, au sujet des pratiques et des parcours. Il montre par ailleurs la nécessité de compléter les classements, en portant attention notamment aux individus et aux situations paroxystiques qui brouillent la donne des taxinomies et questionnent les visions réductrices d’un spécialiste en sciences humai~nes trop pressé ou peu observateur. |

| Summary, etc. | Over and above any classification that may be imposed on the musics of our modern societies, we must take into consideration real-life experience in the field, in its ethnographic sense. The case of band Z demonstrates the complexity inherent in conceiving a hybrid musical proposal that still cannot avoid both the necessity and the desire for classification. The comparative example of two other empirical subjects, musicians who work in the domain of popular cover versions, and composers for stage productions, illustrates the usefulness of categorization answering to particular cultural horizons, on the subject of practices and experience. It also demonstrates the need to complete these classifications, most notably by paying attention to the individuals and paroxystic situations that tend towards a confusion of all taxinomies and can call into question the reductive views of hurried or unobservant specialists in the social sciences. |
