Partant d’une observation approfondie et systématique d’un point d’implantation parisienne des forces de police de proximité et des entretiens avec un de leurs responsables et des vendeurs de drogue opérant à proximité, cet article montre l’engagement qui se construit entre la police et le public qui se trouvent face à face, en identifiant leurs accords tacites et leur communication dans cette situation de coexistence particulière. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper present a detailed case study done on the community police, carried out in 2003 and 2004 in the Goutte d’Or area in Paris. Based on detailed and systematic observations in a Parisians community police’s territory and on interviews with one of the policemen in charge and with the local dealers, this paper shows the tacit agreements that occurs between the police and the public, identifying their way of communication in this particular situation of coexistence. |
