| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa construction d’une image misérabiliste de « la » prostituée, qui ne serait qu’un être en perdition, soumise aux désirs des hommes et inconsciente de sa triste condition, aujourd’hui réactivée du fait de l’implication de réseaux mafieux internationaux dans le commerce du sexe, permet aux « entrepreneurs de morale » que sont les adversaires de la prostitution de s’approprier la légitimité du discours sur la vente de services sexuels. Cette image qui fait fi des réalités et de la diversité des situations constitue une violence symbolique considérable et a servi de socle pour l’adoption récente des mesures répressives qui ont fait de toutes des délinquantes. Les conséquences de cette croisade morale sont catastrophiques tant pour les femmes qui ont fait le choix de ce métier que pour celles qui y ont été contraintes. |

| Summary, etc. | The construction of a pessimistic image of “the” prostitute, which would be only a being in perdition, subjected to the desires of the men and unconscious of her sad condition, today reactivated because of the involvement of networks international maffiosos in the sexwork, allows the “entrepreneurs of morality” that are the opponents of the prostitution to appropriate the legitimacy of the speech on the sale of sexual services. This image which snaps finger at realities and the variety of the situations consitue a consi-derable symbolic violence and served as base for the recent adoption of the repressive measures which made them delinquents. The consequences of this moral crusade are catas-trophic so much for the women who chose this profession that for those who are forced to it. |
