Tout d’abord, le lecteur détermine si le livre lu est un ouvrage de fiction ou un documentaire, ce qui dans le cas de la littérature fantastique horrifique conduit à l’acception ou au rejet du texte. Puis il détermine dans quel genre s’inscrit le roman : s’il considère qu’il lit un roman policier, cette hypothèse de genre va guider son interprétation des actions du récit et sa recherche du coupable. Il arrive parfois que deux genres co-existent au sein d’un même texte. Selon le genre dans lequel le lecteur insère le récit, son interprétation des personnages variera grandement. |

But a novel can mix to generic and the interpretation of the character depends how the reader considers the book: as a novel or as a tale for instance. |

Para empezar, el lector determina si el libro leído es una obra de ficción o un reportaje, lo que en el caso de la literatura fantástica horroriza, conduce a la aceptación o al rechazo del texto.
