| Summary, etc. | RésuméEn 1997, l’auteur publiait l’article « Un champ pour l’histoire : l’animal », où il évoquait la question de l’utilisation historique des travaux de sociologie et d’anthropologie. Depuis, il a vu évoluer ce champ des sciences sociales et de nouvelles approches se développer. Il présente ici un témoignage sur cette évolution, sur l’intérêt qu’elle représente pour sa discipline, en proposant de nouveaux modes de lectures ou en apportant des données inédites auxquelles les archives donnent difficilement accès. Mais il suggère aussi ce que les sciences humaines et sociales pourraient aller chercher dans les travaux historiques et ce qu’il serait possible de faire ensemble, avec d’autres disciplines comme l’écologie et l’éthologie, en poussant plus loin la réflexion sur l’animal acteur. |

| Summary, etc. | In 1997, the author published the article “A field for history: the animal” in which he raised the issue of the historic use of sociological and anthropological works. He has since witnessed changes in this field of social sciences and new approaches being developed. Here, he presents his observations of these changes and on their contribution to his discipline, by offering new modes of interpretation and by introducing hitherto unpublished informations to which access in the archives is difficult. He also suggests a direction of research in historic works for both human and social sciences and what could be achieved together with other disciplines such as ecology and ethology, by taking reflection on the animal as actor still further. |
